Job Position Details:
JOB TITLE: ECE Food Aide
REPORTS TO: Child Care and Guidance Center Supervisor
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To prepare and serve meals in the child care center, which reflects the nutrition habits taught to children in the center.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares morning, noon and afternoon meals and snacks.
Prepares special meals and snacks to meet modified dietary needs of children.
Maintains quality control in kitchen by planning menus and using recipes.
Uses portion control practices.
Serves and cleans up after all meals and snacks.
Cleans and sanitizes cooking and eating utensils.
Cleans up work area—counters, floors, stove, tables, shelves, etc.
Provides daily maintenance of refrigerator and freezers, including cleaning and checking of thermometer.
Maintains current inventory of food and equipment; notifies director of items needing resupplying.
Works with teachers to identify children’s food likes and dislikes.
Assists with classroom nutrition education activities and snacks for special occasions.
Completes market orders and purchases food items on a weekly basis.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
