Job Position Details:
JOB TITLE: Media Parapro
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist the Media Specialist in the managerial requirements of an efficiently operated Media Center.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacts with students and teachers will offering assistance in such things as book check-out, reading to students, book selection, OPAC use, and other information skills.
Assists patrons in locating information.
Gathers requested curriculum related resources for staff use.
Prepares new materials for circulation.
Repairs books and media materials as needed.
Performs basic computer functions including boot-up, shutdown, re-booting, and unfreezing.
Serves as an additional resource for AV equipment use and maintenance.
Assists in training student aides and volunteers.
Assists in keeping the media center and its contents organized and neat.
Assists in preparing displays such as bulletin boards or windows.
Maintains knowledge of Internet policies and procedures to assure proper supervision.
Maintains basic functions of the Media Center in the absence of the Librarian.
Performs any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
According to federal requirements, ALL K-12 paraprofessionals working with students in any capacity must meet the following requirements:
High school diploma OR GED AND
An Associate’s degree or higher OR
60 or more credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education OR
Obtain a passing score on one of the ADE approved online assessments below:
