Job Position Details: CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy to students as specified in the student’s IEP. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Screen students informally to determine the need for or extent of formal evaluation procedures. Evaluate the OT needs of students when indicated and provide a written report of results. Consult with school personnel and outside members of the medical community as necessary for placement and programming information. Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives for students eligible for OT services. Adapt equipment used in the classroom to meet the individual academic needs of the student. Assist the classroom teacher in understanding student needs and making recommendations for the adaptation of assignments or activities when requested. Attend IEPs, staffings, reviews, etc. on assigned students. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to special education services. Maintain state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

POSITION SUMMARY The Occupational Therapist will provide services within the educational environment which are directed toward the development and maintenance of the disabled child’s ability to benefit from their education.

Other: ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The Occupational Therapist reports to the Director of Special Education. The Occupational Therapist will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Minimum starting salary: $62,195 - $74,635 (1.26 Responsibility Factor of MA+36). Additional compensation may be given for education and years of experience. WORK YEAR: 10 Months Contract BENEFITS: Full Benefits, Longevity Incentive
