Job Position Details:
JOB TITLE: Title I Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Services
SUPERVISES: Title I Reading Specialists and Parapros, Reading Coach and Interventionist, Title I Secretary, Outside Readers, AZELLA Assessor, Literacy Benchmarking Team
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Coordinates Title I programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates the interviewing and selecting of Title I personnel.
Meets with Title I personnel and principals (school staff as requested) on a regular basis to discuss needs, problems, and concerns of the particular grade level and/or entire school.
Facilitates training for Title I personnel.
Evaluates staff in consultation with the principal.
Coordinates Title I personnel's schedules and responsibilities.
Disseminates information to administrators and staff members as needed.
Orders instructional materials and equipment and oversees use.
Develops and coordinates activities for parental involvement.
Writes Title I grant applications, amendments, consolidated plans, school plans, and evaluation reports.
Assists the Director of Instructional Services in keeping the Language Arts District Assessment Plan and Scope and Sequence correlated to Standards and up-to-date.
Implements the recommendations of the monitoring reports and other program evaluations to improve the program.
Serves as a consultant to principals and their faculties on matters of student academic achievement.
Acts as technical advisor to Title I programs.
Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings/workshops, reading appropriate professional publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
Serves on the District administrative team.
Assists Director of Instructional Services in developing Language Arts Benchmark assessments.
Directs and supervises activities of the Title I Secretary.
Ensures that district-wide literacy assessment data is gathered regularly and disseminated to principals and teachers in order to monitor student progress.
Is responsible for the collection of state reporting and information sharing of AZELLA results with administrators and staff members as needed.
Serves as the District EL Coordinator.
Serves as the District Homeless Liaison.
Models the 12 Guiding Principles of Exceptional Character.
Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Director of Instructional Services.
