Job Position Details:
JOB TITLE: At-Risk Interventionist
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Title I Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To help students overcome problems that impede learning and assist them in making educational, behavioral and life plans that hold promise for their personal fulfillment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides transportation to school for at-risk students on an as needed basis only.
Tracks attendance of at-risk students and follows up with phone calls, emails, text messages and home visits when needed to encourage and support attendance.
Plans and provides trainings/programs to address students’ needs such as pregnancy prevention, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, anger management, etc.
Maintains communication with juvenile detention center teachers and works to ensure smooth transition of students back into the regular school setting.
Maintains communication with at-risk students’ probation officers as needed.
Maintains communication with principal, classroom teachers, counselor, parent(s) and other team members to ensure academic requirements and social/emotional needs are being met.
Maintains transportation log.
Stays knowledgeable concerning community wrap-around services, provides at-risk students with needed information and monitors student participation.
Supervises transition times to ensure student safety.
Completes other related tasks as assigned by supervisors.

According to federal requirements, ALL K-12 paraprofessionals working with students in any capacity must meet the following requirements:

High school diploma OR GED AND
-
An Associate’s degree or higher OR
-
60 or more credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education OR
-
Obtain a passing score on one of the ADE approved online assessments below:
